We have three trailering
options at White Horse Hill. The first is a warmblood Kingston two horse
trailer. For those larger outings and horse shows we have both a five horse and
a six horse Sundowner gooseneck with room for a seventh small horse on the
floor and a tack room / changing room up front.
Buying/selling horses White Horse Hill always
tries to have a variety of horses available for sale, both our students' and
our own. We only have horses that try to please--no high strung, bad actors
here! The horses are mostly used in our lesson program until someone falls in
love with them. In addition, we do also have a few select lovely, young
prospects -- good movers, athletic, good guy/girl types. Judy, Jennifer and
Elise will happily help find a suitable horse if we don't have the right match
for you. Ask our customers-- we specialize in trying to find just the right
mount!
Extra Medical Care
Clinics (both in house & outside) At White Horse
Hill, we provide regular instruction by instructors with a variety of
backgrounds. We encourage our more advanced students to ride with different
instructors to increase their exposure. As an extension of this, we try to
offer in house video clinics and specialty clinics throughout the year and
outside clinicians as often as possible.
Summer children's program In the summers, White
Horse Hill holds one week sessions of summer riding program for children. This
is a great success all around! In all of these programs the children ride
twice daily. OLDER STUDENTS: We also offer a session for students who can at
least jump (show) at the 2'6" level. This offers 2 longer lessons per day, one
dressage and one jumping. Weather permitting, two of the jumping lessons are
over the cross country jumps.
Working Student Program White Horse Hill will
consider applications for working students. The program includes hands on
experience in horse care, training, riding and showing (where appropriate).
The program is available on a part or full time basis pending availability.
Applicants must have some horse experience. Possible pasture board available
if student has own horse. (Applicants must be at least 18 years old.)
Apprentice/Refresher Instructor Program As anyone
who's considered teaching horse back riding in Massachusetts knows--
INSTRUCTORS MUST BE LICENSED BY THE STATE. We are often approached by people
who want to apprentice teach or refresh their teaching skills at White Horse
Hill. This program aims to address this need. Qualified applicants must be 18
years or older and must have significant horse background and knowledge.
Successful applicants must be good role models and emphasize safety. The
program offers instruction in teaching techniques, strategies and goals.
Apprentices are given an opportunity to teach in both private and group
situations. As a participant you must agree to receive instruction from other
apprentices. This program is meant to jump start participants. It is not our
aim to provide the required 6 months (60 hours) of apprenticeship for each
participant. We hope that each person will use the skills that they have
acquired to continued use, in order to obtain the required apprentice hours
for the state license. There is a fee for participation in this program.
